La Mer Watches for Under Fifty Dollars

Happy Election Day! If you haven’t gone out to vote yet – get to it! I’m personally one of the first people of this country to ever vote via email — NJ voters are able to do so due to displacement from the storm. Today marks my tiny footprint on American history.

I know that there are lots of important things to talk about today, what with natural disasters and Americans voting on who will lead the country for the next four years – but a work friend shared some frivolous news that I just cannot keep to myself. La Mer watches are available at Target.

I know, right? They’re just fabulous. While these puppies normally cost between $98-$188, the $39.99-$49.99 price point is a steal, and the quality appears to be a big step up from my lame knock-off that is admittedly falling apart on my wrist as I type.

I now know the first item on my Holiday wish list. Who’s with me? Would you wear this less expensive version of La Mer?

A New Chapter: The Happy Shopaholic is Moving

Hello my lovely, beautiful readers. I have an exciting announcement today!

You may have noticed that some of my newer posts are cross-posted from the blog Christina Does. For the past few months I have been writing multiple blogs to suit my multiple interests, which include shopping, beauty, food (both cooking and consuming) and events, among other things. Christina Does will combine all of these elements into one blog.

Birchbox Favorites

The reason I joined Birchbox almost one full year ago was to practice my favorite principle of "try before you buy." Each month, for only $10, Birchbox mails a box of large or full sized products for sampling. There is almost always one full sized product that makes the month worth the $10. Since joining, I've been exposed to many products that I like, but there are a handful that my improved beauty regimen just cannot live without. Here are my top three:

1. Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner- this liquid eyeliner's pen-style applicator is a life-saver. I like that the applicator is skinny because I can do a thin liner or build up to a thicker look. The company also makes a fat eye stick for a smudgier look, but I'll stick with my skinny.

2. Miss Jessie's® Original Quick Curls - August was the best month to receive this amazing curl cream. The cream's moisturizing botanicals kept my curls calm and lightweight, giving them a very soft and natural look, which is not easy for me to achieve in the late, humid East Coast summer.

3. Tarte LipSurgence™ lip tint: I'm not huge on lip color - at least I didn't used to be - but this product is amazing. Birchbox gave a full-sized sample in August. I already had this lip tint in a deep red and a light pink, and Birchbox  gave me 'Joy' - the stick looks orange but it goes on in a deep peachy color that is just perfect for any season. I wear this tint just about every day.
